APPEAL
TO END SHORT-TERM VISAS
FOR ENTRY INTO EUROPEAN UNION

Short visas are against the principles of free circulation recognised
by international texts.

They are wrecking the implementation of asylum rights.

They depend on the discretionary power of administration which tend to be arbitrary in their exercise.

The development of European law should lead to their abolition.

The French League of Human Rights and several African Leagues (especially Malien, Moroccan, Mauritanian, Tunisian) have joined with the Belgian league and call on other european members of the International Federation of Human Rights, associations, political parties and citizens to support this proposal.
